Understanding Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Objective

Learn what two-factor authentication (2FA) is, why it’s important for secure access, and how to use it when logging into Ministry Brands platforms. By following these steps, you’ll ensure your login is protected and recoverable if issues arise.

What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Two-factor authentication requires two things to access your account:

  1. Your login credentials (email + password)
  2. A 6-digit verification code sent to your inbox

You’ll be prompted to enter the code when logging in. You can optionally check “Don’t ask again for 30 days” to stay signed in on a trusted device.

Note: Verification codes expire after a short time. If the code is not entered promptly, you may need to click Resend Code to get a new one.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

What if I can’t access the inbox where the verification code is sent?

It is essential that every Manager using the Giving Manager Portal has unique login credentials tied to an inbox they can access.

If you no longer have access to the inbox:

  • Contact another Manager who does have access
  • Have them log in and create a new Manager account for you using your current email
  • If the only Manager is no longer with your organization, contact our Support Team for help reestablishing access.

I didn’t get a code—what should I do?

  • First, check your Spam or Junk folder
  • Wait a few minutes in case of delivery delay
  • If you still don’t see it, go back to the login screen and click Resend Code
  • Still no luck? Our Support team is here to help.

Does the verification code expire?

Yes. Codes are only valid for a limited time. If you wait too long or refresh the login page, your code may become invalid. Click Resend Code for a fresh one if needed.
