When a donor requests a receipt, Giving Kiosk asks for identifying information so the gift can be automatically linked to the correct donor record. Understanding how matching works helps your team explain why a gift did or didn't attach to someone's profile.

How Donor Matching Works

1. After making a payment, the donor taps Continue to receive a receipt.

   

2. The donor provides their name, email address, and, optionally, phone number.

   

3. The system tries to match the gift to an existing donor record using information from the Receipt Form.

4. If no match is found, the system will create a new donor profile using the entered information.

   

5. Important: If no receipt is requested, the gift is recorded without the donor-entered matching step and is considered an anonymous Kiosk gift.
