Starting a New Sale and Sending a Receipt in StewardPay

Use the New Sale flow in StewardPay to collect a payment. Enter amounts manually, and only one fund is active per session. This article walks through a complete sale from tapping New Sale to handing the phone to the payer for confirmation.

What You'll Need

  • The StewardPay app installed and registered on an iPhone
  • A user logged in (using their PIN)
  • The Fund and Administrative Fee configured for this session
  • The total amount owed. StewardPay does not itemize or calculate totals, so work out the amount first — for example, two shirts at $6 each is $12.

Process a New Sale

  1. Tap New Sale.
  2. If Payer Detail > Collect before every payment was selected during setup, enter the payer's name, email address, and, optionally, phone number. Click Continue.
  3. The active fund for the session is displayed

  4. Enter the total amount manually using the on-screen keypad.
  5. If the transaction is tax-deductible, be sure to check the checkbox.
  6. Tap the Continue button.
  7. Administrative Fee:
    • If an administrative fee is configured and the "Fee is required, not optional to cover" box was checked in the administrative fee setup, the administrative fee will automatically be added to the total.
    • If an administrative fee is configured and the "Fee is required, not optional to cover" box was not checked in the administrative fee setup, you will see a checkbox below the total that allows you to add the administrative fee.
    • If no administrative fee was configured in the setup, the total amount will reflect the sale amount.
  8. Tap the Tap to Pay on iPhone button.
  9. After a moment, the app will be ready for payment. Present the phone for the tap payment. The user should hold their credit card over the iPhone screen.
  10. When the payment completes, the iPhone will vibrate and play a tone. You will see a Payment Successful screen.
  11. If Payer Detail > Collect only for receipts was selected during setup, you will have the option to enter the payer's name, email address, and, optionally, phone number. You can skip this, but filling out the payer information will also ensure the payment is included on their year-end contribution statement. If you don't collect payer information, the payment will be recorded anonymously.

  12. After completing the sale, you can begin another New Sale.
