You might have funds, such as a pledge fund, that you want to be set as recurring by default, while other funds, like a holiday-specific fund, are better suited as one-time gift funds. Learn how to configure, on a fund-by-fund basis, which funds should default to recurring and which should be one-time.
This feature can be turned on for any Express Giving form. If you have several Express Giving forms, turning it on for one won't automatically turn it on for the others.
Requirements
Important: This feature is only available on forms with Express Giving and Recurring Gifts enabled.
Enable Express Giving
- Log in to your Giving Admin Portal.
Click Forms on the navigation menu.
Click the name of your giving form. The default giving form is typically called Give Now.
In the upper-left corner, turn on the Enable Express Giving Form setting. If the blue dot is in the on/right position, Express Giving is enabled.
Enable Recurring Gifts
Click the Form Properties link at the bottom of your screen.
On the Payment tab, click the Enable recurring payments checkbox.
Configure Each Fund
- On the Fund List tab, click the Specify recurring vs. one time giving by fund checkbox.
You will now be able to select which funds default to recurring, and which default to one-time gifts.
- Click the Done button.
- Click the Save Changes button.
- Click the Publish button.
Donor's Experience
Using the settings in the above screenshot, if the donor chooses Fund 1 from the dropdown, the gift will be a Recurring Gift by default.
If the donor selects General Church Budget from the dropdown, the gift will default to a One-Time Gift.
Important: Regardless of the default setting, the donor can still choose either a Recurring Gift or a One-Time Gift for any selected fund.
