How to Donate to a Specific Fund via Text or Form

Donors can contribute to specific funds using either text giving or the online Giving form. This guide walks through both methods, including how to give to multiple funds in one transaction.

Providing donors with flexible, clear options to designate their gifts ensures their contributions go exactly where they intend—whether it's a general fund, a special campaign, or multiple ministries.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure the fund you want to give to has a keyword assigned in Fund Management (Contact your ministry administrator to see if it's been configured.)
  • Confirm your Giving form includes the desired fund(s) in the Fund Items section.
  • For text giving, donors must register their phone number the first time they give.

 

Giving to a Specific Fund via Giving Online Form

  • Visit your Ministry’s Giving form (typically housed on your ministries website).
  • Select the fund you wish to donate to from the dropdown or list.
  • To give to multiple funds, click “Add Another Fund” and repeat.
  • Enter your donation amount(s), payment info, and submit.

    Note: Admins can enable or disable multi-fund giving in the form’s field properties. Please contact your ministry administrator if you don't see the specific fund you wish to donate to.

Giving to a Specific Fund via Text

  • Text the dollar amount + fund keyword to your Giving number.
    • Example: 50 BUILDING sends $50 to the “Building” fund.
  • If it’s your first time, you’ll receive a link to register your phone number and payment info.
    • Once registered, future gifts can be sent instantly via text.
  • To change the fund, text a new amount + different fund keyword.
  • To view available funds, text KEYWORD or KEYWORDS.

    Note: Only the top 8–12 funds will appear unless the admin reorders them. Please contact your ministry administrator if you don't see the specific fund you wish to donate to.

  • PRO-TIPS TO CONSIDER:
  • Donors are “locked in” to the last fund they gave to via text unless they specify a new keyword.
  • Text giving does not support notes unless the donor uses the form link.
  • Duplicate donor profiles may be created if the phone number doesn’t match an existing profile.

Troubleshooting

  • Fund not appearing via text? Ensure the fund has a keyword and is among the top 8–12 listed in Fund Items.
  • Can’t give to multiple funds? Check if the form’s “My Donation” field allows multi-fund giving.
  • Text donation failed? Confirm the donor registered their phone number and used a valid keyword.
  • Still having trouble? If you don’t see the fund you’re looking for or the option to give to multiple funds, please reach out to your Ministry’s administrator. They can confirm whether the fund is active and properly configured in the Giving system.

Can donors cover processing fees via text?

No, fee coverage is only available during initial registration via the form.

Can donors give to events or campaigns?

Yes, if the event or campaign has a fund and keyword assigned.

What happens if a donor texts without a keyword?

The gift goes to the default fund unless a new keyword is specified.
