Objective

This article provides a comprehensive walkthrough of the Settings tab in the ParishSOFT Giving platform. You’ll learn how to configure billing info, manage users, access admin tools, customize donor communication, and more.

Why It Matters

The Settings tab is your command center for customizing the platform, managing payments and permissions, setting up integrations, and streamlining operations. Understanding these tools empowers your team and reduces reliance on support.

How to Access Settings

1. Log in to your ParishSOFT Giving account
2. Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner
3. You’re now in the Admin System Settings

Key Settings and Tools

🏦 Billing Information

• Add or update your credit card or bank account
• Enables auto-pay for monthly invoices
• Manage invoices under the Invoices tab

🔄 Account Services

• Update your legal name, address, or banking info
• Submit changes directly in-platform (no ShareFile or forms required)
• Requests are reviewed by the internal team

⚠️ Considering cancellation? Always talk to your Client Relations Manager before clicking Cancel My Account

💳 Virtual Terminal

• Process one-time or recurring gifts on behalf of donors
• Choose existing donors or manually enter new info
• Select payment method and desired fund(s)
• Note: Recurring frequency must match across all selections in a single transaction

📝 Also supports registrations for events (e.g., VBS, Faith Formation)

🧾 Invoices

• View, download, and pay your monthly program fee invoices
• Enable auto-pay via a stored payment method

👥 Managers

• Add or remove team members with admin access
• Assign specific permissions per user
• Best Practice: Always uncheck the Delete option for forms to prevent permanent data loss

⚠️ If Forms access is not given, users cannot manage Giving Forms or Event Registrations

📍 Locations

• Useful if your parish has multiple giving locations

   

🌐 Giving Portal & Home Tab

• Giving Portal: Shareable link for donors to give online
• Home Tab: Visual tile layout showing your active giving form and any event registrations

📁 Data Export

• Replaces Faith Direct’s “Contribution Export”
• Select any custom date range—no longer tied to the 4th or 15th
• Select your CHMS profile (e.g., ParishSOFT, ACS)

📌 Don’t see yours listed? You can create a custom export

✉️ Email Templates

• Edit automated donor emails (e.g., new donor confirmations)
• Customize:
  • From address
  • BCC recipient
  • Subject line
  • Message content
  • Add announcements or parish details (e.g., “Join us Tuesday night for New Parishioner Welcome”)

📱 MinistryOne App

• Your new mobile app experience
• Customize the giving experience
• Only one live project at a time is allowed
• Ideal for donors who prefer giving via app instead of web

📲 Text Management

• Manage your Text-to-Give number
• Create form-specific keywords (e.g., “VBS” sends donors directly to that registration form)
• Edit confirmation messages sent to users after form submission

🔗 Integrations (with ParishSOFT Family Suite)

• Automatically sync giving data to your Church Management System
• Map Giving Platform funds to CHMS funds
• Sync Report shows unmapped or unmatched gifts

🖨️ Check Scanning

• Available via a third-party integration
• Lets you scan and deposit checks directly into your parish’s bank account
