Objective
This article explains how to view deposits, transaction fees, and associated reports within the ParishSOFT Giving platform. By the end, you’ll know how to access detailed deposit data, process refunds, and decide whether gross or net funding is best for your organization.
Why Is This Important?
Previously, Faith Direct deducted processing fees before disbursing funds (typically on the 4th or 15th of the month). Now, with ParishSOFT Giving’s flexible funding schedule, deposits are made in gross amounts (before fees are deducted), giving you greater visibility and control.
How to View Deposits
- Log in to your ParishSOFT Giving account
- From the dashboard, go to Reports > Deposits
- The page will default to your most recent deposit
- To view deposits from a specific time frame, enter a custom date range
You’ll see:
- Deposit amount
- Batch ID (especially helpful for ParishSOFT Family Suite users)
- Options to:
- View Transactions
- Download Reports
- Print Details
What You’ll See When Viewing Transactions
Clicking View Transactions will show:
- The gross donation amount
- Associated transaction fees
- Donor name(s) and transaction details
- Options to:
- Print receipts or resend emails
- Issue full or partial refunds
- Edit the donation’s fund (for future giving)
- Access donor payment profiles
How to View Transaction Fees (Billing Section)
To see processing fees:
- Navigate to Deposits and then click on the Billing tab
- Scroll to the transaction you want to review
- Click to expand for a breakdown:
- Transaction type
- Transaction amount
- Amount billed
- Payment status
You can also export or print this information for your records.
Gross vs. Net Deposits – What’s the Difference?
Gross Deposits (Default):
- You receive the full donation amount
- Fees appear as a separate billing item
- Recommended for transparency and simplicity
Net Deposits (Manual Funding Option):
- You receive the net amount (gross minus fees)
- You’ll need to log in and manually release the funds
- Great for organizations preferring the Faith Direct model
🛠️ To switch to manual funding, contact your Client Relations Manager. They’ll make the change internally and confirm once complete.
