PayPal Implementation Guide: Admin Setup & Donor Experience
Overview
We’re excited to announce that PayPal is now available as a donation and payment option on all Giving and Payment forms. This feature offers convenience and security for your donors, simplifying the giving process.
Manager Enablement
- PayPal has been enabled by default on your account and added to all existing Giving and Payment forms.
- To disable PayPal for specific forms:
- Navigate to the form’s Properties.
- Go to the Payment Tab.
- Under Accepted Payment Types, uncheck the box for PayPal.
Donor Experience
Donating with PayPal from an iOS or Android Mobile Device
Note: Screenshots reflect iOS, but the experience is identical on Android devices and all browsers.
- Open the Giving Form and complete the required fields.
- Select the PayPal payment method and enter the following:
- Name
- Email Address
- Tap the PayPal button at the bottom of the form.
- The donor will be redirected to log in to their PayPal account.
- After completing PayPal’s Verification Steps, click Agree & Pay Now.
- The donor will be redirected back to the Giving Form, where a Thank You message will appear.
Donating with PayPal from a Computer
- Open the Giving Form and complete the required fields.
- Select the PayPal payment method and enter the following:
- Full Name
- Email Address
- Click the PayPal button at the bottom of the form.
- A PayPal login pop-up will appear within the browser window.
- Log in to the PayPal account and confirm the payment by clicking Agree & Pay Now.
- A Thank You screen will appear on the computer where the donation was initiated.
Reporting
- Transaction/Donations/Gifts Report: PayPal donations will appear in the Source column, indicated by the PayPal icon.
- Deposit Report: PayPal transactions are processed through the PayPal processor. To view deposits for PayPal and Venmo:
- Select your PayPal depository bank account from the dropdown menu.
- Select your PayPal depository bank account from the dropdown menu.
